Utilising the harp, voice, electronics and percussion, Méabh McKenna (she/they) is a multi-instrumental sound artist based in Dublin city
Interested in cultural resonance and translations of identity, the formation and fragility of self narratives, oral histories, awakening the archive, collections and gathering, mythology, and science fiction, their work focuses on the harp as an instrument of performance.
2024 saw the introduction of new project geis, which explores collaborative improvised noisemaking with Elaine Malone and Eleanor Myler.
A passionate collaborative musician, Méabh has performed with acclaimed box player Seamas Hyland utilising field recordings, improvisation, and tradional music. Méabh has also toured and supported experimental fiddle player Ultan O’Brien, cellist Anna Clock, and worked with Olan Monk, Donal Dineen, and RTÉ’s Ambient Orbit.

Méabh has worked with song writers such as Aoife Nessa Frances, Maija Sofia, and Julie Byrne, while exploring collaborative performance art with artists such as Isadora Epstein and Maïa Nunes.
With an MFA in Art in the Contemporary World from NCAD, Méabh also holds a Bachelor in Music Performance from DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama, specialising in Pedagogy and carries a deep passion for music education and outreach.
